Native support for Ccache Remote Storage
Published: July 29, 2026
Build acceleration through distributed caching is now available for projects using C, C++, Assembly, CUDA, Objective-C, and Objective-C++. available now in BuildFetch Cloud or On-Prem.

Technical Aspects
BuildFetch Cache now implements the Ccache Remote Storage protocol and storage schema.
BuildFetch Cache acts as a Ccache HTTP remote storage backend in both Cloud and On-Premise deployments, with distributed In-memory → NVMe → SSD storage.
As with any Ccache-backed setup, cache reuse depends on matching compiler identity, flags, source inputs, and the relevant build environment details.
When we add support for new protocol & toolchain, this includes extensive unit and integration tests, as well as end-to-end tests.
For Ccache we have end-to-end test suite that:
- Spins up BuildFetch Cache in Kubernetes cluster
- Creates Ccache project
- Sets up source code, stable version of Ccache and
clang - Runs Ccache build twice
- Verifies that first Ccache build uploaded expected cache entries to BuildFetch Cache
- Verifies that the second Ccache run got 100% cache hit that we verify both in our backend and in Ccache output.
This way any change to Ccache related code will re-run these tests in BuildFetch Monorepo ensuring we did not break Ccache compatibility.
See Configure Ccache Remote Storage setup docs for more details.

Product Vision
BuildFetch needs to carve out a unique position in the market by covering build cache for the entire tech stack of real startups and enterprises:
- Backend: Go, Rust, C++, JVM, TypeScript
- ML & AI: C++, Rust, NVIDIA CUDA, AMD ROCm HIP
- Frontend: TypeScript
- Mobile & Desktop: Swift, Kotlin, Electron
All with a single subscription to BuildFetch Cache, whether Cloud or On-prem.
When a build in your company takes 30 minutes and the team is scrolling Twitter waiting, while your competitors ship with 3-minute builds and barely stock up on coffee — that’s a business problem, not just a developer problem.
BuildFetch Cache is on a fast track to become the single build cache solution for your entire tech stack across engineering departments with new cache protocols rolling out every ~1.5 weeks.
